Vertical Vegetable Gardening
The initiative to produce a vertical garden for the school is an offshoot of the Seeds For The Future project, where we developed the prototype of our sustainable house with ideas for adapting our housing to low-cost practical solutions. . Now, in practice, we are following Sustainable Development Goal 2, which is the eradication of hunger, with alternatives that also include Goal 3, which is to maintain a healthy life. Based on a model that we have already started and that we are already harvesting vegetables, we are going to use the vertical vegetable garden to help our students' meals, who will gradually replace these vegetables as needed and donate to some families.
Without the use of pesticides, using PET bottles or flower pots donated by students and teachers, we are committed to including a healthy diet in the school menu, working with composting techniques, recycling materials, making our students aware of healthy food that is possible in a cheap and possible way to cultivate at home that does not have a space to grow a vegetable garden. Soon we will have our workshop that will be prepared by students from Youth and Adult Education and a volunteer Agronomist Engineer who will help teach our students and cook some vertical garden cultivation techniques and vertical garden using grow light system.
